From Vines to Vines. The first BMW Z Day is a roaring success.
Sunday 26 July saw a group of excited customers and Vines staff embark on a day trip to celebrate everything great about owning and driving a Z car. A line up of Z3 and Z4 cars both old and new, including the all-new BMW Z4 Roadster graced the roads from the Guildford dealership headed for lunch and a tour at the ward-winning Wickham Vineyard, set in the heart of the Hampshire countryside.
The day started at 10am with a coffee and briefing at Vines of Guildford. Luckily the weather held up and with roofs down, all revved up and raring to go, a procession of Z cars left the dealership in convoy to start the 2-hour journey to Wickham Vineyard. The journey took the cars through some beautiful countryside and some truly great roads.
Arriving at Wickham, the group of Z owners sat down to experience the culinary delights of the Vatika Restaurant, run by Michelin star and celebrity chef, Atul Kochhar. Revered for his masterful use of spicing and renowned for creating modern Indian dishes with British influence, everyone relaxed and enjoyed three courses of delectable dishes in a magnificent setting.
Followed by a talk by Wickham’s wine maker William, customers were allowed to view where the wines are harvested, pruned and maintained all year round and enjoy a spot of wine tasting.
Customers were also invited to test drive all-new Z4 cars through the excellent county roads, which proved to be very popular, resulting in a much later but satisfied return to the dealership.
Back in convoy the group made their way back to the Guildford dealership to round off the day’s activities with a Vines BBQ and a chance to review all the photos taken during the day.
Commenting on the day’s activities Steve Hilson, General Sales Manger at Guildford said -
“We would like to thank all customers who joined us for this trip, and for their positive comments. This day was about our customers and their cars and it is wonderful to have such great feedback. Both customers and staff really enjoyed the day and we hope to organise many more drive day events like this in the near future.”
